MAY DAY CELEBRATION
As spring arrives, Giant Joy Collective will invite the Benson community to celebrate the spirit of May Day. A tradition of renewal, creativity, and neighborly joy.
In the weeks leading up to May Day, the Giant Joy studio will open for hands-on workshops where neighbors can gather to create May Day baskets filled with flowers and small handmade offerings. These gatherings will also share the traditions of May Day and invite people to make ribbons, costumes, and small puppets to carry in a joyful spring procession.
On May Day, we will walk together through Benson in a simple neighborhood procession, sharing music, color, and laughter. Along the way, participants will deliver their handmade baskets to neighbors, leaving small gifts of beauty and kindness at doorsteps.
The celebration will end gathered around a Maypole, where bright ribbons are woven together in a dance welcoming spring and
celebrating community.
